Description      
The Alpine Club of Canada offers permanent funds to which people may apply for financial support for their mountain-related projects and initiatives. These funds are the Environment Fund, the Jen Higgins Memorial Fund, and the Jim Colpitts Memorial Fund. Support is provided in the form of modest annual grants to individuals and groups who are judged as best meeting specified selection criteria. The ACC is also in partnership with the John Lauchlan Award - a cash award designed to assist expeditions of Canadian mountaineers and explorers. The Karl Nagy Memorial Award is granted to aspiring guides and amateur leaders in alternating years. The award consists of a trip to the Club's General Mountaineering Camp, where the award recipient is able to shadow and learn from full guides.
