GNB Canada ReportsMarch 13-14, 2003: -Scenarios Workshop Report The purpose of this report is to document the results of the scenario workshop held March 13 & 14, 2003 designed to explore the future of the Trail District. Approximately 20 participants from the Community representing business, political and community interests took part in the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop was to develop the conceptual building blocks for scenarios on the future of the Trail District. This report documents the results of the discussions at the workshop. April 2003: -Scenarios Report Scenarios are alternative descriptions of the future. They focus on the forces driving change and the critical uncertainties leading to different possible future outcomes. They are not predictions. Scenarios are stories of different futures designed to deepen understanding and insight on change and broaden thinking on the future. They are thought experiments intended to improve understanding of the implications of today’s decisions.
Scenarios are written as stories about the future. Stories are a traditional and powerful way of communicating complex and often subtle ideas. They encourage the reader to participate in the experience. This report describes four scenarios on the future of the Trail District. Read the full report (21 page PDF document)
May 2003: -Strategic Priorities Workshop Report The purpose of this report is to document the proceedings of a one day Strategic Priorities workshop held on Friday May 9, 2003 in Trail, British Columbia. The agreed upon objective of the workshop was to follow a process that would enable the group to arrive a set of ‘strategic priorities’ that could ultimately be the focus within an overall strategic plan for the community.
