Community Engagement
A column by Graham Kenyon
I am writing this as a member of the LCCDT (Lower Columbia Community Development Team), but not on behalf of the LCCDT. This is part of the 'community engagement' initiative identified by the LT Planning Group as an important step towards 'mindset change' within our LC Community - one of the 3 strategic priorities.
The series of columns will lead the readers through the scenario planning process to arouse awarness of the need for community action in determining its own future. I expect then to describe the work of the LCCDT and others who are actively working for change.
The columns will be published biweekly - every other Tuesday - and will continue for about 5 months. The columns are not intended to replace a communication plan to inform the community on the current activities of the LCCDT, that is a different task.
I want to encourage comment and feedback, and hopefully the series will generate interest and ultimately result in a wider participation.
