We all know that books are an incredible research resource. To help you start and run a business, Community Futures of Greater Trail houses the Kootenay Regional Business Library. The Business library is full of business specific publications and is fully searchable using the search form below.

In addition to books and publications the Business Library houses two public access computer terminals with high-speed Internet. The Business Library has been established to provide a wide collection of specialized business information for those who are seeking information on:

  • Establishing a new business
  • Buying an existing business
  • Expanding or revising an existing business
  • Updating or researching regulations and laws
  • And much, much more...

The library contains hundreds of publications that will provide specific information on:

  • Government programs
  • Census statistics
  • Bookkeeping & Accounting
  • Hiring and supervisory strategies
  • Marketing
  • Business Plans
  • And much, much more

The RBL has a wide variety of instructional and resource materials. All our resources are on a computerized file index for easy access and searchability. Our friendly staff can help you find the information you require. Some of these resources include:

  • Indexed periodical library
  • Training videos
  • Self-counsel and other how-to books
  • Source references for suppliers and equipment
  • Business-specific start-up manuals
  • Availability to books through inter-library loans

Owning or operating a business is a tremendous challenge. You will need all the help you can get. By researching your project through the use of the materials available through the RBL you will better prepare yourself for all the hurdles you will face in the business world. Finding accurate and up to date information on the many aspects of business is now more critical than ever --Your very survival as a business may depend on it.

 

The Regional Business Library is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Appointments should be made if you wish to use the community access computers, or if you require assistance with research.
