Board of Directors



The CFDC of Greater Trail Board of Directors identifies goals and objectives for the upcoming year through strategic planning. The staff then is charged with the task of delivering on these goals. The Board meets on a monthly basis at which time management provides a progress report and receives input from the Board.

 

Director Term

Subject to the provisions of this By-law, Directors shall be elected yearly by the Active Members at an annual meeting. The Directors term of office shall be from the date of the meeting at which they are elected until the next annual meeting or until their successors are elected. The whole Board shall retire at the annual meeting at which the election of Directors is to be made, but subject to the provisions of the By-laws shall be eligible for re-election.

There are a total of 4 Sub-committees, and each Committee's chair is also a Director on the Board. All Board and Committee members live in the Greater Trail area and are made up of local business people, educators and professionals. In the 06/07 fiscal year a Community Economic Development (CED) committee was formed and has been a value-added addition to the organization.

 

Finance Committee (4 volunteer members):

  • This Committee approves or rejects requests for financing and meets on an as-needed basis. This Committee is chaired by a director and is comprised of 3 Directors and 1 non-Director volunteer. They are all long-term residents of the community.

 

Self Employment Benefit Committee (5 volunteer members):

  • This Committee approves or rejects applications to the Self-Employment Benefit. A Director chairs this Committee of which the remainder of the members are non-Directors.

 

Human Resources Committee (4 members):

  • This Committee is entirely made up of Board members and is an internal committee that works with management under direction from the Board to determine compensation and staffing levels.

 

CED Committee (4 members):

  • This Committee is made up of 4 Board members and the CED/IT Coordinator and Manager attend meetings. This committee identifies and prioritizes CED opportunities. The Committee is responsible for vetting, evaluating and reporting to the Board on all CFDC activities non-related to loan or SEB applications.
